NERVOUS SYSTEM ACNE
You have scored the highest in the "Nervous system" category, meaning the leading cause of your acne stems from sympathetic nervous system dominance, ‘fight or flight’, chronic unhealthy amounts of stress.
Watch the video below to learn how you can treat the cause of your acne driven by sympathetic nervous system dominance (chronic stress).
The cause of your acne can be influenced by many body systems (Hormone, Liver, Lymphatic, Gut and Nervous system) and we focus on these five body systems inside our 10 week transformation online course ‘Acne to g l o w’ treating the cause of your acne.
In addition to the nervous system being responsible for stress regulation and response. The gut, brain, skin connection is an important part of treating your acne holistically as the correlation between your gut microbiota, emotional state and systemic/skin inflammation is all connected, meaning more stress equals compromised gut health which then equals more acne. It is a nasty hamster wheel of stress and acne, that I know too well because I used to be on it.
When you feel stressed your sympathetic nervous system ‘fight or flight’, releases stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline into your body. This influx of cortisol causes increased oil (sebum) production which can lead to clogged pores, acne breakouts and systemic inflammation.
Within our 10 week transformation online course - Acne to g l o w, we teach you how to jump off these viscous stress equals acne cycle and support your body's natural ability to process and manage stress with adaptogenic herbal medicine while you reassess your lifestyle factors contributing to chronic amounts of stress. Prioritisation is key.
NERVOUS SYSTEM ACNE:
Here are two steps you can do right now to start treating your acne caused by sympathetic nervous system dominance (chronic stress and inflammation)…..
NUMBER ONE:
Reduce consuming stimulants such as caffeine (even black and green tea contain caffeine). Caffeine consumption increases the production of the stress hormone, cortisol which then increases the amount of oil produced by your sebaceous glands, therefore contributing to more acne. Caffeine also blocks necessary sleep promoting receptors, restricting your skin's ability to repair itself.
NUMBER TWO:
Make sure you have dedicated time in your day to ‘reset’ and breath deeply, supporting your body to transition into parasympathetic nervous system dominice ‘rest and digest’, this is where your body will recharge, replenish and renew itself, allowing you to treat the cause of your acne.
Whatever way you need to hit ‘pause’ in your day…. do it and prioritise your nervous system health NOW because your nervous system is your body's biggest focal point and is responsible for the majority of bodily processing and intelligence. Treat it this way!!
Meditation, yin yoga, listening to podcasts, reading, gardening, lying on the beach or on the grass, do what you need to do to hit ‘pause’ on a daily basis, even if it is taking one big breath in…… (let’s do it together now) and one big breath out………
Thank you for wanting to treat the cause of your acne and I can not wait to see you inside our comprehensive 10 week course - Acne to g l o w if you would like to finally treat your acne for once and for all from the inside out.
I look forward to seeing you inside Acne to g l o w,
Bye for now,
