I struggled with cystic acne for ten years. Every product. Every facial. Every pharmaceutical. Every supplement and machine-led treatment on the market. Some worked for a month. Nothing worked long-term.
And the whole time, my gut, immune system, nervous system and my confidence was paying the price. The longer it went on, the more I suspected the answer wasn't my skin at all. That suspicion became an obsession. The obsession became two Clinical Science degrees.
Somewhere in the middle of studying Naturopathic Medicine, I found it, not in a skincare range, not in a treatment room but in the science of what was happening inside my body.
I graduated. I cleared my skin. In 2018, I opened Australia's first online Naturopathic Acne Clinic and spent years treating the root cause of women's acne internationally.
Then I started hearing from the Skin Therapists sitting across from those clients. Skin Professionals who knew acne was deeper than the surface but had no evidence based clinical framework to back that up.
So in 2021, I built the clinical acne framework that no Diploma or Dermal Science degree has ever taught: Advanced Acne to g l o w®.
I was working two jobs while studying full time. I had severe acne, gut health issues and anxiety. In fact, at my first Naturopathy degree clinic, I was the student with the worst acne in the room. I felt like a complete fraud. A Hypocrite standing in a clinic trying to help people with the exact thing I couldn't fix in myself! But I knew I had to help people in a bigger way, which is why this work became bigger than me and my own insecurities. Full time uni, working two part time jobs.
I kept going.
I graduated from my second Naturopathy degree and my skin cleared. My health started to change in ways I never knew possible. I always knew I needed to do this for me but mostly for all acne sufferers struggling for answers like I was.
I started my own business, completely from scratch. No team. No support. Just me, wearing every single hat, figuring it out as I went.
I understand solo practitioner life because I live it. The late nights, admin, business development, client work, marketing: all of it. I still have doubts about being on camera. Every. Single. Time. But I put myself out there anyway; because I believe in what I was building and I knew the acne industry needed a massive upgrade, even if I felt uncomfortable.
What I didn't expect was what happened next.
I actually never went looking for a niche education platform. The niche found me.
Slowly, then all at once, acne became everything and I let it. I stopped trying to be everything to everyone and went all in on the one thing I was most passionate about.
